What is Pre and Post Natal Rehabilitation?

How Does It Work?

The approach is proactive, educational, and phased, adapting to your changing body and recovery needs.

During Pregnancy (Pre Natal):

  • Assessment & Education: We assess your posture, core, and pelvic floor function. We provide education on body mechanics, safe exercise, and prepare you for the physical demands of labor and delivery.
  • Strength & Stability: We focus on strengthening the glutes, back, and legs to support your changing posture and reduce common aches. We also teach you how to maintain core and pelvic floor function with appropriate exercises.
  • Pain Management: We use manual therapy, stretching, and specific exercises to alleviate common pregnancy-related pain in the lower back, hips (like SPD), and wrists.

After Childbirth (Post Natal):

  • Recovery & Reconnection: The initial focus is on healing, whether you had a vaginal birth or a C-section. We guide you in gently reconnecting with and activating your deep core and pelvic floor muscles, which have been stretched and weakened.
  • Progressive Strengthening: We design a gradual, individualized program to rebuild functional strength, focusing on the core and pelvic floor without causing strain or worsening conditions like diastasis recti (abdominal separation).
  • Return to Exercise & Life: We provide a structured plan to safely return to your desired activities, from lifting your car seat to running, ensuring your body is truly ready for the demands.
